I am really loving the light at the moment, there’s a fabulous clarity to it. And all with the wonderful hint of spring in the air, despite the cold! The painting below is oil on board and is inspired by the current weather conditions.
Spring Coast is the title of my latest abstract work, it is oil on canvas. I painted this after a walk, on one of the first days of Spring, when at long last you could actually feel the warmth of the sun on your face. Although sunny, it was misty as well, which only added to the atmosphere!
The image below is of a cliff fall, we had in my village a couple of weeks ago, bringing down a hundred tons of chalk. There was another cliff fall a week later, in the next village along. Luckily, no-one was underneath either one at the time!!
These photos are from my walk yesterday, on my local beach. The cliffs you can see in the second photo, are the start of the White Cliffs of Dover, which begin in my village. I have to confess I love winter for the light!!
